Hi Endevver:

I was wondering if you guys noticed the issue I posted on Plugin Profiler about a week ago https://github.com/endevver/mt-plugin-profiler/issues/1? We are trying to evaluate Plugin Profiler in comparison to BuildTracer, but Plugin Profiler doesn't parse one of our client's template logic correctly. We know that the logic is evaluated correctly by Movable Type.

Are you actively maintaining this plugin?

If we start using Plugin Profiler for performance analysis, we will work with you on patches that we think are necessary. But right now, we are trying to determine if it's comparable to BuildTracer.

Thanks,

Hey Dave -- I saw the issue you reported, but haven't had a chance to look into it at all. I haven't run into the problem you report. Yes, it's a maintained plugin, though obviously hasn't seen any recent activity.

Frankly, if the visualization capability is interesting to you, BuildTracer has the advantage over Template Profiler.

Thanks a lot for the quick response, Dan.

I think Template Profiler's interface has some nice ideas that BuildTracer doesn't have at this point, which is why I was trying to evaluate it. They take slightly different approaches to solving the same problems, which could be a good thing.

I might end up looking at the code bases in comparison to each other to see how different they are.
